DOTEX is a so-called cotton fabric (HGW) and laminated papers (HP). These are duroplastic composite materials based on phenolic resin. Whereas the resin system determines the temperature stability, heat conductivity, machinability, manufacturing costs, as well as friction and sliding properties, the various fabric and paper structures define the composite as a layer/laminate structure. The mechanical strength, setting behaviour and design-based degrees of freedom vary on custom-made parts depending on whether you use cotton fabric or paper layers.

DOTEX materials boast the following features:

  • Good mechanical strength
  • Good friction and sliding properties
  • Excellent insulating and cushioning effect (in the case of resin-bound cotton fabric)
  • Excellent machinability
  • Very inexpensive solution
